Golaghat (Assam) [India], June 6 (ANI): Assam Minister Atul Bora appreciated the predictions made by exit polls regarding the Lok Sabha elections, and said the Bharatiya Janata Party had anticipated similar results during campaigning.
He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is predicted to become the PM for the third straight term, saying he has done a lot for the north-east.
“For the election campaign, we went to every corner of Assam and we saw the support given by people to our candidates and we had anticipated that this time again NDA govt will come back to power. Exit polls have come and it is highlighting what we had anticipated. We will get a huge majority and PM Modi will become Prime Minister again. PM Modi has done a lot for the northeast and it a matter of great pride for us,” Bora said at a press conference on Sunday.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya slammed the INDIA bloc over their criticism of exit polls, and said the Opposition parties have got “frustrated” looking at the predictions.
“On June 4, it will be known whether the exit polls have come from the public or from the BJP office. It is very difficult to accept defeat and even difficult to talk with sense after facing defeat. Opposition leaders have become nervous after seeing the exit polls,” he told ANI.

Former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said the exit polls reflect the mood of the nation and the people have voted for the progress and future of the country.
He also said that the BJP will get a 20-24 per cent vote share in Kerala, adding that the Christian community have voted for the party in huge numbers.
“I was in charge in Kerala, the way all our leaders and workers campaigned for the polls. Our votes have almost doubled from 12 per cent last time, it can go to 20-24 per cent. This is because the Christian community has voted in huge numbers,” Javadekar said.
“Congress also started doing communal politics like the Communist party. This has happened due to PM Modi. 2 crore out of 3.5 crore people in the state have received benefits from central schemes. People are also impressed by the development in infrastructure,” he added.
The former Information and Broadcasting Minister said that BJP will emerge as the party having the most MPs from the southern states in the Lok Sabha elections.
Most of the exit polls have predicted that the BJP-led NDA is set to come back with a resounding majority, with further inroads in Bengal, Odisha and the southern states.
The voting for the 543-member Lok Sabha was held across seven phases. The counting of votes will be held on June 4. (ANI)
