New Delhi [India], May 6 (ANI): New Delhi Municipal Council Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal on Tuesday emphasised that the 20-day cleanliness campaign titled ‘My NDMC, Keep It Clean’ is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of ‘Swach Bharat’ and ‘Swach Delhi’.
Speaking to ANI, Chahal said, “We all have decided that for 20 days, all the officials and workers of NDMC will be on the streets and will ensure that there will be no garbage. We are all working to fulfil the resolve of PM Modi of Swachh Bharat and Swachh Delhi.”
Earlier today, in an initiative aimed at promoting civic responsibility and environmental hygiene, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took part in a 20-day cleanliness campaign titled ‘My NDMC, Keep It Clean’ from the Hanuman Temple complex in Connaught Place.
Speaking to the media, CM Gupta urged everyone to come on the road and promote cleanliness.
“In Delhi, a cleanliness drive is being conducted by civic agencies and the government in the NDMC area. It was a symbolic message to all the officials and the leaders that all must participate and come on the road for a better and beautiful Delhi. It is a 20-day campaign. I believe that a clean Delhi is the right of the people. NDMC has made good efforts to promote cleanliness. I request all to take part in this campaign,” the Delhi CM said.
CM Gupta also posted on X and termed the event as “important step” towards making the national capital clean, beautiful and healthy.
“Today I performed Puja at the ancient Hanuman temple in Connaught Place and participated in the cleanliness drive organised by NDMC. This event is an important step towards making our capital clean, beautiful and healthy,” she said.
“This campaign is dedicated to #SwachhBharatAbhiyan started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, which has awakened a new consciousness towards cleanliness across the country and transformed it into a mass movement. Come, let us all take a pledge that cleanliness should not be just a campaign but should become our habit and responsibility. Let us together build a developed and clean India through our efforts. An India that becomes an inspiration for the coming generations,” the Delhi CM posted. (ANI)
