Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 15 (ANI): Independent Maharashtra MLA Ravi Rana criticised Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, saying that the Congress leader’s party was unsuccessful in completing any work while they were in power.
“The work that Rahul Gandhi could not do when he was in power is now being done by PM Modi. So this is the time for Rahul Gandhi to speak and for PM Modi to work,” Rana told ANI.
His remarks come amidst Rahul Gandhi saying that his party and other opposition parties were not just fighting the BJP but the Indian state itself.
MLA Rana recalled the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with various MLAs of the ruling alliance, calling it a ‘familial meeting.’
“It was a familial meeting. PM Modi shared many aspects of his life… Family matters should not be revealed… His words were inspirational,” the MLA added.
State’s minister and Shiv Sena MLA Shambhuraj Desai said that there was ‘no political discussion’ with the MLAs.
“People from all the friendly parties of the Mahayuti gathered for a meal… There was no political discussion…,” he told reporters.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Sirsat said that PM advised politicians on how one should interact with people after being elected.
“He said that while doing developmental works or implementing schemes, we should be present there too. The most important thing he said was that in this hectic life, one should pay attention to one’s health and family…,” Sirsat said.
He further criticised Rahul Gandhi’s statement on PM Modi too, calling his words as ‘immature.’
“His statements are really immature… It has become Rahul Gandhi’s nature to make statements for politics… INDI alliance members don’t want to be with him anymore… Rahul Gandhi’s time seems to be coming to an end,” he added.
Earlier today, as Congress inaugurated their new headquarters ‘Indira Bhawan,’ Rahul Gandhi hit out at the BJP and alleged that the Congress and other opposition parties were not just fighting the BJP but the Indian state itself.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mumbai today and held a lunch meeting meeting at INS Angre auditorium with Mahayuti MLAs.
Multiple Mahayuti alliance leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
The PM’s meet two months after the ruling Mahayuti coalition won the assembly elections. The alliance comprises of Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The ruling coalition has 230 seats our of 288 seats in the Assembly.
Apart from the MLAs meet, Prime Minister also inaugurated the new ISKCON temple and dedicated three naval ships to the nation at the Mumbai Dockyard. (ANI)
