Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], July 13 (ANI): Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday attended the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working committee meeting held in Rajasthan’s Jaipur and said that they are here not for power but to build the country.
“It is not the time to sit in peace…Go to every village and spread the mantra of awakening, bring the work of the government to the grassroots and also spread your thoughts to the grassroots so that a prosperous, rich India and a prosperous and developed Rajasthan can be built,” said Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing the BJP working committee.
“Friends, remember, we are not just here for power, we are here to build the country, we are here to serve the people…” Shivraj Singh Chouhan added.
Earlier on Friday, Singh Chouhan during review meeting of Kharif crops in Delhi said that the central government is trying to achieve self-sufficiency in the production of pulses in the country.
“Achieving self-sufficiency in pulse production is a priority for the country” said Chouhan.
During the meeting on Friday the minister also expressed happiness over increase in area of pulses cultivation during ongoing Kharif sowing this year. The Minister noted that area under pulses have increased by over fifty percent particularly for Tur/Arhar.
He also reiterated that central government is committed to have 100 per cent procurement for Urad, Arhar and Masur in all the states and called for generating awareness on the issue so that more and more farmers come forward for pulse cultivation.
“Centre is committed to have 100 per cent procurement for Urad, Arhar and Masur in all the states” said the Minister.
The officials also briefed the minister about the onset of monsoon, groundwater situation and availability of seeds and fertilisers. The minister stressed for the timely availability of fertilisers, both for Kharif and Rabi crops. (ANI)
