Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 2 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other ministers of his cabinet paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, on his 155th birth anniversary on Wednesday.
CM Yogi Adityanath also participated in ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Today the whole country is celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and is forever indebted to his contributions towards India’s freedom struggle and humanity. PM Narendra Modi’s call of ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, which began on 17th September, and is celebrated as Vishwakarma Diwas and PM Narendra Modi’s birthday, continues today on Gandhi Jayanti as well.”

He further said that Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of cleanliness, women empowerment, local, and independence are still valid to this day.
“Swach Bharat Mission is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of cleanliness. PM Modi is joining the campaign, which was started by him 10 years ago. Toilets have been built in more than 12 crore houses. Without women’s empowerment, society cannot be strengthened and made self-reliant. All powerful nations in the world primarily achieved the aim of self-reliance,” he added.
