Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 8 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Director-General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar visited Ayodhya and inspected the preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra that will begin on July 22.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra, the officials inspected the Hanuman Garhi Ramlala and Mani Parvat Temples.
After the inspection, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh said, “The annual Shrawan Mela is set to be organized in Ayodhya during the month of Sawan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is concerned that the crowd will be bigger this year. Many people will come for darshan at the Shri Ram Lalla temple.”
“For the smooth conduct of these events, we have come to inspect the arrangements so that the people who come here have a good experience. In this regard, for crowd management and for the convenience of the people, all the departments should work in unity,” said the official.

While speaking to the media, Uttar Pradesh, DGP Prashant Kumar emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring maximum convenience and safety for all Kanwar Yatra pilgrims, which will begin on July 22 in Uttar Pradesh.
“Efforts will be made from the government’s side to provide the best possible facilities to all pilgrims to ensure their convenience and safety. Adequate police forces will be deployed at every religious site,” the DGP said.
DGP Kumar said that security arrangements will be made at the places where the Kanwar camps will be set up, and on the routes through which the pilgrims will pass.

“Additionally, special arrangements will be made in Ayodhya and other major locations to ensure safety, especially in crowded areas and main temples, where medical facilities will also be available,” DGP Kumar said.
The DGP said that the Police will also deploy ATS and STF to ensure the smooth conduct of the Kanwar Yatra.
“Advanced technologies like CCTV coverage will be extensively used. We will also keep adequate security arrangements in reserve at every place. ATS and STF teams will be deployed, and SDRF and NDRF teams have been enlisted for emergency response. and the local administration and navy teams will also be involved,” DGP Kumar added.
DGP Prashant Kumar mentioned that the police will regulate the songs played by DJs and the sound limits during the Yatra. Special security measures will be in place on the borders of Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan, with active dog squads, bomb disposal teams, IB, intelligence, and LIU teams.
Liquor and meat shops along the Kanwar route will be closed. Electric poles will be covered with polythene and transformers with nets to prevent any accidents. Camps along the Yatra route will be set up away from highways and expressways.
DGP Kumar also mentioned that officials from other states have been instructed to provide ID cards to the Kanwar pilgrims to ensure they can be contacted and assisted in case of any issues. Additionally, the villages and police stations of the groups of pilgrims should be noted. (ANI)
