Stuttgart [Germany], July 3 (ANI): Ahead of his side’s clash against Germany in the quarter-final match of the EURO 2024, Spanish striker Joselu said that Toni Kroos is a key player for the German side.
In Germany’s previous match against Denmark in the Round of 16 match, Ton Kroos completed the most passes (87) in the game. He also created the most chances (4) in the match against Denmark.
Earlier in May, the German midfielder announced his retirement from football after the end of the Euro 2024. He ended his club football career with Real Madrid after the Los Blancos’ 15th UEFA Champions League (UCL) win.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Joselu hoped that Toni Kroos’ last match in his international career would be against Spain on Friday. He added that Germany are a dangerous team.
“I love Toni [but] I think Friday is his last game. We know the quality he has. He is a key player for Germany but we can’t focus only on him. They are a very dangerous team, above all in attack,” Joselu was quoted by ESPN as saying.
He added that the Spanish side need to keep a special eye on Toni Kroos so that the Deutschland can’t play their game.
“We know that every time they have possession, the ball passes through Toni. We will have to have a special eye on him so that Germany can’t play their game,” he added.
Germany are coming into this match after beating Denmark 2-0 in the pre-quarter-final match with the help of Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala’s goals. Meanwhile, Spain hammered Georgia with a 4-1. Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo were the scorers for the Spanish side. (ANI)
