Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], April 6 (ANI): Launching a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his statement regarding the Congress’ manifesto, Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur has said that the manifesto released by the Congress party talks about the public and poor, which makes PM Modi “uncomfortable.”
“A Prime Minister who is afraid, who is a liar, and who makes false promises cannot say anything more than this about Congress. It’s (manifesto) talks about the public,” said Rajesh Thakur.
Further coming down heavily on PM, he went on to say that whenever Congress talks about the poor and helpless, then the PM is uncomfortable, adding, “Whenever he feels that his things are not moving in his favour, he talks in this way.”
This comes as the Prime Minister said on Saturday that the Congress’ mainfesto is nothing but a “bundle of lies,” and every page of the document reeks of attempts to “tear India apart.”
The manifesto by Congress was released at the party headquarters by its top leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on Friday, (April 5).
Addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Ajmer, the Prime Minister said that the manifesto reflects that the thinking of the Congress resembles those of the Muslim League during the pre-Independence period.
“Yesterday, the Congress Party released its manifesto, a bundle of lies. Every page of this smells of breaking India into pieces. The same thinking is reflected in the Congress manifesto as was present in the Muslim League at the time of independence. Congress wants to impose the views of the Muslim League of that time on the country today,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister claimed that the Congress of today is “bereft of principles and policies,” adding that it was apparent that the party has outsourced everything.
“The Congress of today is bereft of principles and policies. Today, Congress has neither principles nor policies left. It was apparent that the party had outsourced everything,” he added.
He then went on to ask whether such a party could do anything that would be in the country’s interest, eliciting a loud “no” from the people in the audience.
The voting process in Jharkhand will unfold in four phases, from May 13 to June 1.
In the Lok Sabha election 2019, the BJP won 11 seats with a 51.9 per cent vote share, while Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and ASJU won one seat each.
The elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held from April 19 to June 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. (ANI)
