Tel Aviv [Israel], July 2 (ANI): The rapid innovation in sports tech has been significant all around the world. For a considerable amount of time, sports have been a major source of entertainment, and their market is expanding rapidly.
Sports technology is developing quickly and upending the sports industry in order to satisfy the needs of both athletes and viewers. Technological developments are having an impact on how sports teams interact with fans, how athletes practice, and how sports venues are managed.
Technological breakthroughs and shifting consumer behaviour are driving a dramatic transition in fan involvement in the fast-changing sports industry. The way that people watch sports is changing due to the influence of younger generations, especially Gen Z, who prefer social media and digital platforms that allow for more interaction and community.
Fans now have a variety of individualised and engaging ways to interact with their favourite sports and teams thanks to the growth of immersive sports, which is made possible by streaming services and virtual reality.
Even with these changes in digital media, primetime viewership is still dominated by live sports, with big-time events like the Super Bowl drawing enormous crowds. The sports industry is a vital component of the global media ecosystem and presents new avenues for fan contact and participation as it develops.
To get a better understanding of significant growth in sports tech ANI spoke to Stadicom.
Stadicom’s app, based on innovative 5G private cellular infrastructure technology, changes the experience of participating in large-scale events and turns every stadium into a smart stadium.
Now, the Israeli company, Stadicom, is partnering for the first time with ‘HaMoshava Stadium’ (Shlomo Bituach Stadium) in Petah Tikva, near Tel Aviv, to boost the audience experience of sports competitions and performances. For the first time, viewers can enjoy high-quality video services such as replays, new camera angles, and more.
The company said that in the future, more stadiums in Israel and abroad are expected to be included in the company’s pilot program.
“Sports fans all over the world want to see the video. Want the data want content, want highlights and in many cases, it’s not possible because the cost is too high. If you are not only looking at the highest cricket federation or league then typically budgets are not there. What we did we automate the entire process from capturing the camera to editing, through streaming, through monitoring content using AI and the cloud. This allowed us to go from T1 to higher level sports but also to lower leagues, women sports today are producing hundreds and thousands of games,” Alon Werber, CEO of Pixellot told ANI.
“Today, watching sports competitions and shows in stadiums with tens of thousands of spectators is associated with communication and internet browsing difficulties. Stadicom’s app, using Cellcom’s frequency, is based on a private 5G network with a private core, high bandwidth, and advanced management system, providing full coverage for browsing in the stadium and upgrading the audience experience,” a statement from the Stadicom read.
“Two years ago, The Petah Tikva Development Company issued a tender for the rights to upgrade HaMoshava Stadium with full 5G infrastructure. Now, Stadicom’s collaboration with the TV right holder, Charlton and global tech partners: WSC, Pixellot, 365Scores, and ‘Amazing Food’ allows Stadicom’s app users to watch the action up close and in real-time, as well as track game statistics, watch goal replays and key events – Video Assistant Referee, bet, and soon, order products from the concession stand,” the statement further read.
“We are excited to launch the Stadicom app at the Stadium in Petah Tikva near Tel Aviv and turn it into the most advanced stadium in Israel in terms of browsing and audience experience. Stadicom’s platform, which combines fast 5G technology connectivity with a live digital experience app, brings stadium audiences into the future. After the successful pilot, which has shown impressive usage data, and Charlton’s investment we will continue to expand to additional stadiums across the country and abroad,” Stadicom CEO, Uri Sharir said.
Werber said they have started the “revolution” and they have so many things to fulfil in future.
“So, I think we are already. We are producing more women in sports than anyone in the world so I think it is already a revolution and youth sports. Millions of people are using it all over the world. Getting statistics, and analytics in their own clips and their families and grandfather, and grandmother communities but there is still a way to go. We have started the revolution. There are 200 million games that can be produced we have covered only 4 million. We have so many things to fulfill ahead of us,” Werber added. (ANI)
