New Delhi [India], September 26 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday reiterated its concern over the delay in the appointment of judges in various High Courts.
The apex court was hearing the petition against the Centre for keeping pending the Collegium-recommended names of judges for appointment in the various High Courts.
A bench led by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul remarked that nothing has happened in the last seven months since it heard the plea last.
The court asked the Centre about the non-clearance of names of judges of various High Courts recommended by the Collegium.
The court noted that various names have been pending for the last ten months.
The court asked the Attorney General to take instructions from the Central Government on the issue.
The Supreme Court had earlier expressed its concern on the issue of keeping the list of the transfers of judges of the high courts pending with the Centre. (ANI)
