Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 10 (ANI): On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, public representatives and administrative officials reached the homes of the devotees from Gorakhpur injured in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning and provided financial assistance.
“During this, the families of the injured were assured that the government is leaving no stone unturned in the treatment of the injured. The Chief Minister himself is keeping an eye on the entire matter,” as per a press release.
Four devotees are from Gorakhpur among those injured in the terrorist attack on a bus full of devotees in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. These include Rajesh, a resident of Purdilpur, his wife Riksonna, Gayatri and Soni of Bhairopur. All of them are relatives.
A group of 17 people including these injured had gone to Jammu from Gorakhpur to visit Mata Vaishno and Shivkhodi temple. Out of these, Rajesh, Riksonna, Gayatri and Soni were aboard the bus which was returning from Shivkhodi on Sunday. In Reasi district, terrorists attacked the bus, causing it to overturn and fall into a deep ditch.
Four of the nearly three dozen injured were identified as the aforementioned devotees from Gorakhpur.
“Taking immediate cognizance of the terrorist attack, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had directed the officials on Sunday itself to contact the Jammu and Kashmir administration and ensure proper treatment and necessary facilities to the injured,” the release stated.
On the instructions of CM Yogi, on Monday morning, the administration team went to Bhairopur and Purdilpur and met the families of the injured and provided them financial assistance. During this, the families were assured that the government is constantly in touch with the Jammu administration and high-level treatment is being provided to all the injured.
The Jammu and Kashmir police have said that the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba is suspected of being behind the assault on a bus in the Reasi district, which resulted in the deaths of nine pilgrims.
While speaking to ANI, DIG Udhampur, Rayees Mohammad Bhat said, “We have launched searches, following the leads which we have regarding the terror attack. 11 of our teams are active. All the forces are operating jointly…We have called a lot of people for questioning. “As per the eyewitnesses we came to know that two terrorists were there but as per our analysis, two to three terrorists must have been involved in this attack. We have called a lot of people for questioning. As far as analysis till now, we see Lashkar’s hand”.
The bus, coming from Shiv Khori shrine to Katra, carrying pilgrims was targeted by terrorists at around 6.10 pm on Sunday, when it reached the Pouni area of Reasi district, bordering Rajouri district.
Following the attack, the driver lost control and the bus plunged into the gorge killing at least nine people and leaving over 30 injured, the officials said. (ANI)
