Sukma (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 11 (ANI): The recently opened field hospital at Sukma’s Puvarti, the native village of dreaded Naxal leader Hidma, is acting as a catalyst for reducing the gap between locals and security forces, said a top police official.
This field hospital was opened on the lines of Chhattisgarh Government’s ‘Niyad Nellanar” scheme and its vision of establishing security camps as integrated development centres.
“We are working as per the action plan under which security forces are trying to ensure basic facilities at newly established camps (be it of paramilitary or police) in the region. According to Niyad Nellanar scheme of the state government, basic facilities like medical, ration outlets, schools and power supply are being provided to villages in insurgency-hit districts. Keeping the same in mind, CRPF camp has recently been established at Puvarti and the paramilitary force has developed a field hospital at their level,” said Bastar Range Inspector General of Police (IG) Sundarraj P.
Through this field hospital, the security personnel are working to ensure primary healthcare facilities to the residents in the area, added the IG.
The move is benefitting the villagers and simultaneously playing a pivotal role in reducing the gap between the government and people in the area, stated the officer, adding that the move has started making a positive impact in the health of women and children.
Bastar Range IG further said that CRPF’s field hospital along with the Healthcare unit of the district administration is playing a significant role in improving the health condition of people in the area. The field hospital, equipped with a dedicated medical team, is successfully providing primary medical facilities to the villagers and also referring patients to the district hospital as per the need.
The field hospital has a well-equipped ambulance as well as bike-ambulance to deal with an emergency condition, the officer informed.
Police and security personnel are working as an intermediate medium to ensure facilities to people and similarly, the security camps are working as integrated development centres to link locals with various schemes being run by the government, Sundarraj said.
Health and education are important needs of people, therefore the government is setting up these facilities in the region, said the IG
Moreover, a PDS (public distribution system) outlet has also been established in the area for ensuring the benefits of government schemes.
Villagers who reached the CRPF camp to avail medical facilities told ANI that after the establishment of camp at Puwarti, healthcare facilities are easily available to them. They also expressed gratitude towards the government and forces. (ANI)
