New Delhi [India], January 3 (ANI): Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said it is only under him that the history of the country is being “preserved, protected and promoted.”
Highlighting the legacy of the Maratha community in the country, the minister stressed that “every Maratha has contributed to the development of the nation.” He added that it is our responsibility to institutionalise our history through documentation for future generations
Scindia unveiled a Marathi book ‘Prakasatun Prakashakade’ (From Light to More Light) authored by Dr Rajendra Shende in the national capital on Friday.
The book, written over a span of more than seven years depicts the three-century-old relationship between two Maratha communities – the Shindes and the Shendes, an official statement stated.
While discussing the Maratha legacy, he stated, “From the British to the Mughals, the Marathas fought every invader and sacrificed their lives for Bharat Mata. For the Marathas, ‘Dharma and Karma’ go hand in hand, and therefore, from Chhatrapati Shivaji to Bajirao Peshwa, from Ahilyabai Holkar to Ranoji Scindia, and from Mahadji Scindia to Jiwajirao Scindia, every Maratha has contributed to the development of the nation.”
He further added, “It is only under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that our history is being protected, preserved, and promoted. In this digital age, it becomes our responsibility to institutionalise our history through documentation for future generations.”
In a post on X, Scindia said that the book highlights the relationship between the Shende and Shinde families of Maharashtra.
“Today, the book ‘Prakasatun Prakashakade’ by famous writer and environmentalist Dr. Rajendra Shende ji was released, which highlights the three centuries old relationship and glorious history of the Shende and Scindia (Shinde) families of Maharashtra. Hearty congratulations to the author Dr. Rajendra Shende ji. While on one hand this book is a beautiful symbol of Marathi culture and history, on the other hand it also inspires us to feel proud of our heritage,” he said.
“Also, on this day, I remember every warrior of the Maratha community who fought valiantly against the foreign invaders and sacrificed everything to protect Mother India. I pay my heartfelt tribute to all of them,” Scindia added on X. (ANI)
