New Delhi [India], March 11 (ANI): Opposition leaders on Tuesday slammed Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane’s statement on the ‘Malhar certification’ for Hindu meat traders and Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Ketakee Singh remarks urging Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to either ban the entry of Muslims into medical colleges or create a separate block for Hindus.
Speaking to ANI, Congress MLA Nana Patole claimed that a Minister cannot talk like this.
“A minister cannot talk like this. It gives a message that the Chief Minister has no control over his ministers. If any minister is inciting a fight between two religions, then the CM should take action,” he said.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) faction MLA Jitendra Awhad said that such things should not happen in the holy month of Ramzan.
“When everything is going well in the state, then they the (BJP government) will talk about Hindus and Muslims,” he said.
“Action should be taken, but why do politics on it,” Awhad said on the issue of illegal loudspeakers.
However, BJP MLA Sanjay Upadhyay supported Nitesh Rane’s statement and said that the chemicals that are produced during ‘Halal’ are harmful for the body.
“I don’t have any issues regarding who is eating what but if someone is being fed something in a wrong way, then it should be objected…the chemicals that are produced during ‘Halal’ are harmful for our body…I support Nitesh Rane in this case…chicken and mutton shop should have licence,” Sanjay Upadhyay said.
Nitesh Rane said this certification will help in accessing “rightful mutton shops” with a “100 per cent Hindu community” and without any adulteration.
Taking to social media X, Rane wrote, “Today we have taken a very important step for the Hindu community in Maharashtra. http://malharcertification.com has been launched on this occasion.”
“Through Malhar Certification, we will have access to our rightful mutton shops and there will be a 100 percent Hindu community and the person selling will also be a Hindu. No adulteration will be found in the mutton anywhere,” he added.
Rane appealed the people to use the certification and not buy mutton from places where the certification was not available. He also stated that the efforts would make the youth of the community financially empowered.
“I appeal to you to use Malhar certification as much as possible and in fact, not to buy mutton from places where Malhar certification is not available. These efforts will definitely make the youth of the Hindu community financially empowered,” the post further read.
On the other side, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Uttar Pradesh MLA Ketakee Singh on Tuesday urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to create a separate wing for Muslims at the new Ballia Medical College.
Speaking to ANI, Ketakee Singh said, “A brave policeman in Sambhal clearly said that there are 52 ‘Jumme’ in a year, but Holi comes only once a year. So I thought that if something happens by mistake some colour is splashed, then this crying gang will take to the streets. …I think that if they are so scared of our people, then why not have a separate wing made for them at the medical college that is being built in Ballia, where they can come get treatment.”
She said that a separate medical facility for Muslims would ensure the safety of Hindus.
“You must have seen videos on the Internet, spitting on fruits, spitting on vegetables, mixing urine. I demand from the CM that a separate wing should be made for them so that they can get mental and physical treatment,” she added.
Reacting to this, Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh condemned Ketki Singh’s controversial statement urging Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to either ban the entry of Muslims into medical colleges or create a separate block for Hindus.
Vikramaditya Singh termed the remarks unconstitutional, divisive, and against the core values of the country. He said that discriminating against any particular community in medical colleges or any government institution is not only unconstitutional but also harmful to the fabric of society and the country’s fundamental principles.
“The respected BJP MLA holds a constitutional post, and her demand to prevent a particular community from entering medical colleges is completely against the ethos and values of our nation. I urge the Chief Minister to take strict action against such statements,” he said.
He further said that India is not anyone’s private property, where individuals can decide who gets access to public institutions and who doesn’t.
“This is not her father’s estate where she can decide who will enter and who will not. Facilities in government institutions, hospitals, or any public offices are meant for every citizen of this country–whether they belong to the 1.3 billion people of India or the 7 million residents of Himachal Pradesh,” Singh added.
