Siliguri (West Bengal) [India], January 3 (ANI): Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen on Friday expressed support for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement alleging that the Border Security Force (BSF) was facilitating militants and infiltrators from Bangladesh to enter the state.

“The Chief Minister has only said the things which are in her knowledge and which she believes to be correct,” Sen told ANI.
Sen mentioned that the responsibility of the border solely lies with the security force and not the state government.
“This is not a surprising thing. Everyone knows that the border is looked after by the BSF (Border Security Force). If the ruling party in the centre want to talk about the issue then this is the responsibility of the BSF, not the state government’s,” Sen added.
Her remarks come a day after CM Banerjee said during a State Administrative Review Meeting in Nabanna Sabhaghar in Kolkata that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) would protest against them.
“Border is guarded by BSF but not TMC… They are sending goons. They are sending people who murder people through the border. It is an inside job of the BSF, and it is a blueprint of the Central Government. If there was not any blueprint from the Central Government, then it would not be possible,” the West Bengal CM said.
Sen also hit back at the Bharatiya Janata Party for criticising the West Bengal CM, and claiming that any ‘infiltrators’ entering the country are the vote bank of the CM herself.
“Whatever the BJP wants to say, they can, but the truth is that the border’s responsibility is with the BSF and BSF’s responsibility is with the union government, where the BJP is the ruling party, so who is more responsible?” Sen asked.
Sen also expressed that Banerjee is already a leader in mainstream politics, as the CM expressed gratitude a few weeks ago to all leaders who supported her amid speculation of leadership changes in INDIA bloc.
“Mamata Banerjee is already a leader, she is very senior politician, since 84 she has been an MP 7 times, a central minister 6 times and now also CM 3 times. She is definitely a leader in mainstream and parliamentary politics, the whole country agrees to that,” she told ANI.
Earlier Union minister Sukanta Majumdar hit out at the Bengal CM over her allegations.
Majumdar said, “During 2021 Assembly elections she had instigated people to attack Central forces. If it would have been Pakistan forces then she would have welcomed them. We all know that the terrorists who are entering the country are West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s vote bank.” (ANI)
