“Not appropriate”: JD (U) minister on Rahul Gandhi’s “fire” remark – World News Network

Patna (Bihar) [India], April 3 (ANI): Days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that the whole nation would be “set on fire” in case the NDA wins the Lok Sabha elections, Bihar minister and leader of the ruling JD (U), Ashok Choudhary, said it was not an “appropriate” statement.
“I think it is not an appropriate statement from Rahul Ji. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been able to create the perception in the last ten years that the country is moving ahead as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. And the country has been capable of restoring its lost prestige, “the JD (U) leader told ANI.
“The youth and public think that the country’s (future) is safe in the hands of PM Modi. And if we remain with him (PM Modi), our future will also remain safe,” he said.
Reacting to this, Madhya Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kailash Vijayvargiya told reporters in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur that the leader of his “stature” should not make such “mindless” statements and “fire is in his mind.”
“I think a leader of his stature should not make such mindless statements. With the kind of development that is taking place in the country, the people of the country are with the BJP and PM Modi. Perhaps the ‘fire’ is in his (Rahul Gandhi’s) mind and that is why he thinks so,” he said.
Highlighting the achievements of the country in the last ten years, the senior BJP leader said, “The country is making progress, and poverty is being alleviated.”
At the March 31 rally of the INDIA bloc held at Ramlila Maidan, the former Congress chief said, “If the BJP wins these match-fixed elections, and changes the Constitution, the whole country will be on fire. Remember this.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday that there can never be a comparison between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Rahul Gandhi.
“In these 23 years, as Chief Minister and Prime Minister, Modi ji served the people of India without taking a single leave. On the other hand, there is Rahul Baba, who goes abroad as soon as summer comes and the entire Congress keeps searching for him for 6 months. There’s no comparison at all between the two!” Shah said in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday wrote to the Election Commission (EC) and urged the poll body to take “stringent action” against Rahul Gandhi over his “election can’t be won without EVM” remark.
The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting April 19, with counting to be held on June 4. (ANI)
