Chikkaballapur (Karnataka) [India], June 30 (AN): Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai stated that no power can stand against the people’s power.
He remarked that the local MLAs were unaware of this and believed that they could win by merely holding onto power. However, Sudhakar’s victory has proven the strength of people’s power, Bommai noted.
Speaking at an event to honour Chikkaballapur MP K. Sudhakar, Bommai mentioned that he did not feel sorrow over Sudhakar’s defeat in the last election but rather regret that the work did not progress. Despite where he is positioned, Sudhakar will always be in Chikkaballapur, Bommai added, highlighting that the people’s support has given Sudhakar an opportunity.
Bommai praised Sudhakar’s work over the past 15 years, noting that it had earned him significant support and victory. The people’s connection with Sudhakar had drawn him to this opportunity for comprehensive development. By choosing Sudhakar, the people have allowed him to realise all their dreams, as Bommai emphasised.
The former chief minister lauded Sudhakar’s initiative to distribute 25,000 plots of land, calling it a revolution. He also mentioned Sudhakar’s efforts in resigning to establish a medical college, which is now not serving patients adequately due to the Congress government’s inefficiency.
Bommai criticised the Congress government for failing to provide grants and declared it bankrupt, predicting it would soon be unable to pay salaries to government employees.
Bommai lambasted the state government, saying that it had done nothing significant and had only ruined the farmers. He said that the Congress government was merely about holding onto power rather than serving the people.
He accused the Congress of failing to properly distribute the relief provided by the central government and mentioned that during their tenure, they had given double the relief. He criticised the current government for stopping student scholarships, saying the government was only focused on securing positions for the CM and DCM.
He mentioned that Sudhakar had worked hard to establish a separate milk union for the district, but the Congress government had cancelled it. Bommai urged everyone to rally under Sudhakar’s leadership to demand the necessary milk union for the region’s farmers.
Bommai affirmed that there is definitely a bright future ahead for the BJP and JD (S), stating that the regional party has former prime ministers as leaders. (ANI)
