Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 15 (ANI): In a shocking incident, an elderly woman and her daughter were found dead inside their apartment in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district on Tuesday, a police official said.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the apartment in the Garden Homes complex, located in Alkapuri under the jurisdiction of University police station. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Indu Puri (81) and her daughter Reena Bhalla (56). A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has also been called to the scene for further examination.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dharmvir Singh told ANI, “We received information in the morning that an elderly woman and her 56-year-old daughter were found dead in an apartment in the Garden Homes residential complex, which is a gated community. The police and an FSL team arrived at the scene to investigate.”
Preliminary findings indicate no signs of forced entry into the apartment. The bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death. An SIT has been established to continue the investigation, he added.
“The actual cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report, and we are investigating the matter from various angles. It is a secure residential complex with security guards, and nearby residents were present. Several servants worked at the residence, and separate teams are questioning them,” the officer said.
