Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 6 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav planted a sapling as a part of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign in Kapila Gaushala in his home district Ujjain on Saturday.
After planting the sapling, CM Yadav visited the Gaushala and performed puja of a Gaumata (cow) on the occasion. He also fed animal fodder to the little calves and pampered them.
Speaking to reporters, the chief minister said, “It is our responsibility to save sick and specially-abled cows that keep roaming on roads for which the state government has made arrangements. We will improve the management in Gaushalas by connecting the society and saints. We are connecting more people to this initiative.”
“I am satisfied that we are making Gaushala operating in all the major cities of the state through municipal corporation. Our government is also going to start a bonus on milk production so that people rear cows at their homes,” he added.
Earlier in the day, CM Yadav launched ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign in the state capital Bhopal and planted trees with public representatives.
CM Yadav also said that under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, the Madhya Pradesh government decided to plant 5.5 crore trees across the state.
“The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Today, the whole country and every citizen is planting a tree in the name of their mothers. Underlining this Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to plant 5.5 crore trees across the state. The campaign is being run in different districts across the state for the same,” CM Yadav said. (ANI)
