Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 5 (ANI): A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death by an acquaintance of hers in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district, a police official said on Friday.
The incident occurred in Kulon village under the jurisdiction of Chargaon police station in the district on Thursday. The accused attacked the minor with a knife at her neck, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sonali Dubey said.
“A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death with a knife around the neck by an acquaintance of hers in Kulon village under Chargaon police station in the district on Thursday. In the preliminary investigation, it came to light that the accused used to have talks with the minor over the phone, it is revealed in the call details,” ASP Sonali Dubey said.
After the incident, the accused fled into the forest area located near the village. A team was formed and was searching for the accused in the jungle along with local people, she said.
“We are hopeful that the police will round up the accused as soon as possible and begin the investigation into the matter. The reason for the murder will be known once the accused gets arrested,” the officer added. (ANI)
