Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) [India], August 20 (ANI): The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at Coimbatore Airport arrested a man and seized 2002.00 grams of suspected Marijuana valued at approximately Rs 1.01 crores on Tuesday, according to Customs officials.
In a post on X, Trichy Customs stated, “Based on the specific intelligence the officers of AIU Coimbatore Airport intercepted one male passenger (Indian national) who arrived at Coimbatore on 19.08.2024 from Bangkok via Singapore by Scoot flight TR-540.”
“The officers recovered & seized 2002.00 grams of pale green color substance suspected to be Ganja/Marijuana valued at Rs.1.01 Cr. from the check-in luggage of the passenger, which was concealed inside Corn Flakes packets. The passenger has been arrested under NDPS Act, 1985,” added the statement.
Further investigation is underway.
Earlier, AIU at Trichy Airport arrested a woman and seized 2,291 grams of gold valued at approximately Rs. 1.53 crores on Tuesday, according to Customs officials. (ANI)
