Kaithal (Haryana) [India], August 22 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing a third consecutive term in the upcoming state assembly elections.
Speaking at a gathering in Kaithal, Saini described the moment as a homecoming, saying, “I am extremely fortunate that today, I have come to my family, for your blessings for the third tenure of the BJP.”
The Chief Minister further asserted his optimism for the party’s success in the elections, scheduled for October 1 with results to be declared on October 4.
“I believe that when the voting takes place on 1st October and results come on 4th October, ‘Lotus’ will bloom for the third time with maximum number of votes,” Saini remarked.
The Chief Minister earlier announced that the party is set to lag off ‘Sankalp Patra Van’ that will take suggestions for manifesto from people.
“Today our first meeting of Sankalp Patra has taken place and the entire plan has been made in it. Today we are going to send the Sankalp Patra Van from here. This van will go among the public, and collect suggestions from the public. Starting from Panchkula, a 15-member committee will go in all 22 districts to take suggestions from people,” CM Saini said.
“In the last 10 years, our government has fulfilled what was promised in the earlier manifesto. People should also suggest the solution to the problems. We will also inform about our work,” he added.
Former Haryana Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday asserted that the BJP will form the government for the third time in the state as the public has lost faith in Congress.
“I welcome the announcement and our workers were already preparing to contest the elections. And of course, just like the government has been formed at the Centre under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, in the same way, the BJP will form the government for the third time in Haryana. The public has lost faith in Congress and the people of Haryana will not trust them,” Khattar told reporters.
While addressing the press conference in the national capital, the Chief Election Commissioner said that “Assembly Elections will be held in one phase; voting on October 1. Counting of votes will take place on October 4.”
