Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 4 (ANI): Kamlesh Paswan received a warm welcome from people on arriving at his Bansgaon constituency for the first time after becoming Union Minister of State for Rural Development following the Lok Sabha elections.
He was elected MP from here for the fourth time in the recent Lok Sabha elections. He said he would work hard and fulfil the responsibilities assigned to him.
Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan said, “First of all I would like to thank my central leadership Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jagat Prakash Nadda ji, and Home Minister Amit Shah for including me in their Union Cabinet. It is very important department, rural department. 70 percent of the population of this country lives in villages, the responsibility of that department has been given to me and I assure that I will do justice to my department with hard work and fulfil whatever responsibility the party assigns me.”
After being appointed as Union Minister of State, on his first arrival in Gorakhpur on Thursday, Kamlesh Paswan was welcomed by workers from the airport to his home.
After escorting the Union Minister out of the airport, the people of the Pasi community paid respect to him by weighing the minister against 94 kg of coins on a scale.
On the arrival of the Union Minister, the entire city welcomed him and workers holding banners greeted their leader.
He further thanked the people of Gorakhpur for the grand welcome.
He further said, “After 25 years of service, I have got this opportunity today. There are tears in my eyes and I am emotional about the way the people of Gorakhpur are welcoming me today, I have no words to thank them.” (ANI)
