Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], August 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that while justice is straightforward, the process can be complex, and it’s our job to simplify it.
He expressed satisfaction that the country has taken many historic (referring to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and decisive steps toward making justice clearer.
While addressing the people at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur, Prime Minister Modi said, “I believe that justice is always simple and clear but sometimes the process makes it difficult. It is our collective responsibility to make justice as simple and clear as possible and I am satisfied that the country has taken many historic and decisive steps in this direction.”
PM Modi also mentioned that after decades of independence, the country replaced outdated colonial laws with the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
“We have abolished hundreds of colonial laws that have become completely irrelevant. After so many decades of independence, emerging from the mentality of slavery, the country has adopted the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in place of the Indian Panel Code.”
“Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita liberates our democracy from the colonial mindset. The basic spirit of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita should become as effective as possible, this responsibility is now in front of all of us,” he added.
PM Modi stated that our country has rapidly become the fifth-largest economy and highlighted the importance of innovating to align with the new India and modernizing our systems. He also stressed on the importance of “Justice for All” and the vital role of technology in our judicial system.
“Our country has changed rapidly in a decade. We have risen from the 10th position ten years ago to become the 5th largest economy in the world. Today, the dreams of the country are big, aspirations of the countrymen are big. It is important that we do new innovations according to the new India and modernize our systems. This ‘Justice for All’ is equally important for this. We are seeing that technology can play such an important role in our judicial system,” he said.
PM Modi congratulated all the jurists and the people of Rajasthan on the occasion of the completion of 75 years of the Rajasthan High Court, coinciding with the upcoming 75th anniversary of our Constitution.
“I am happy that I got the opportunity to be with you all at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Rajasthan High Court. Rajasthan HC has completed 75 years at a time when our Constitution is also going to complete 75 years. This is also a moment to celebrate the integrity and contributions of many great people. This is also an example of our faith in the Constitution. I congratulate all of you jurists and the people of Rajasthan on this occasion,” he said,
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also congratulated everyone present at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court.
“The 75 years history of Rajasthan High Court is glorious and inspiring…The Bar has contributed a lot to the High Court in the justice delivery system. The Rajasthan High Court was inaugurated by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh on 29 August 1949. Many judges of the Rajasthan High Court have given their contributions along this journey of 75 years…I congratulate everyone who are present at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the Museum of the Rajasthan High Court at its Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Jodhpur. (ANI)
