New Delhi [India], October 18 (ANI): After his release from Tihar Jail on bail, Delhi’s former Minister Satyendra Jain on Friday launched a veiled attack on the BJP- led central government alleging that the country is headed down a path of dishonesty and atrocities, targeting those who dare to oppose.
“The people should not be scared against the atrocities that are happening in the country. The path that the country is being taken is dishonesty and atrocities. Those who are against this are being punished. Arvind Kejriwal has publicly said that we will not be suppressed by them,” he told ANI.
Citing his own arrest as an example, Jain claimed that his arrest was aimed to halt progress, including the successful Mohalla Clinic initiative.
“Just because we have fought against injustice they have put us behind bars…Why was Satyendra Jain arrested? So that the Mohalla Clinic does not work,” he said.
Further speaking to the reporters, the AAP leader questioned regarding the GDP of the country.
“What is happening in this country, they say our GDP has increased, from where did the GDP increase, the GDP of 100 crore people of this country is less than Rs 30,000 a year. The average GDP of the people is Rs 2,30,000 and 100 crore people’s GDP is not even Rs 30,000. What is happening?” he asked.
Meanwhile, Jain’s wife Poonam Jain thanked God and the people for supporting them throughout their journey.
“I thank god and the people who supported us in the journey,” she said.
Sweets were also distributed outside Tihar Jail ahead of the release of Satyendra Jain, who was granted bail from Rouse Avenue Court in the money laundering case.
Earlier, Counsel for Satyendar Jain, Vivek Jain said that the trial court has extended liberty and there are no special conditions.
“Trail court has granted bail to Satyendar Jain and said that he has a right under article 21 to be not incarcerated indefinitely when the trial has not even commenced. Therefore, the trial court has extended liberty…There are no special conditions…He should be coming out today late evening,” he said.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh saluted Satyendar Jain’s passion saying that he is the person who gave Delhi the model of Mohalla Clinic, free medicine and various health schemes.
“This is good and big news for AAP leaders and workers. He is the person who gave delhi the model of Mohalla Clinic, free medicine and various health schemes…873 days he was kept in jail and he lost 36 kg weight. I salute Satyendar Jain’s passion,” Singh said.
The Rouse Avenue Court on Friday granted bail to AAP leader Jain in a money laundering case.
He was arrested in May 2022 in this case and Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted bail to Satyendra Jain today.
He has been granted bail on a furnishing bail bond of Rs. 50000 and a surety bond in the like amount.
After hearing the order Jain’s wife and daughter broke down in the court. The court said that Jain has suffered a long incarceration of almost 18 months.
Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 30, 2022, on the charge of laundering money. (ANI)
