New Delhi [India], March 9 (ANI): Ahead of the Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand at Dubai, cricketer Arshdeep Singh’s coach, Jaswant Rai, felt India had the upper hand in the match as the pitch at the venue will support the bowlers.
India is set to face New Zealand in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand and India were in group A. They faced each other in the group stage, where India defeated New Zealand by 44 runs. Varun Chalravarthy was announced as the player of the match for his brilliant fifer.
India was undefeated in the group stage, with six points, and New Zealand finished second with four points.
Speaking to ANI, Rai said he admired the Indian team, which has excellent depth in its batting and 6-7 match-winners.
“India has the upper hand in today’s match. The condition of the pitches is going to support Team India. We have an excellent depth in batting and bowling as well. Our 6-7 players are match winners. Our bowlers have also been doing well. I am sure India is easily going to win.” Jaswant Rai said while speaking to ANI.
Rai felt that Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra play spin well, as they have experience playing on these types of pitches. He went on to say that India is a much stronger team, and if they score 275, it will be an easy win for them.
“In New Zealand, they have two players, Kane Williamson and Rachin, who play spin well. They play IPL, so they have experience with these pitches. We have four spinners. Varun Chakravarthy has taken five wickets, and we have Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Jadeja, who are bowling well. We have depth in our batting, and since we have promoted Axar Patel in the batting order, he is scoring runs at the top. If India scored 275-280 runs, it will be a winning total,” he added.
Bronze Medallist Boxer Manisha Moun also expressed her view before the Champions Trophy final between India and New Zealand, where she said that she wanted to see India win and Virat Kohli score big runs.
“I want to see India winning the match… Indian team is very confident, and Virat Kohli will hopefully play very well…” Manisha Moun said. (ANI)
