Acting on specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition in fringe areas of Thoubal district of Manipur, the Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a joint search operation on August 5, 2024, and recovered two 9mm Carbine Machine Gun, two 9mm Pistol, one .32 Pistol, one 12 Bore single barrel gun, two 303 rifles, nine grenades, ammunition and other war like stores.
The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation.
Earlier this month, the Indian Army, along with the Manipur Police conducted an intensive search operation and seized two AK-47 rifles, one Sniper rifle, one 9mm Pistol, three Grenades and other war-like stores in the general area of Uyungmakhong in Bishnupur District, Manipur.
“After an intensive search operation, two AK-47 rifles, one Sniper rifle, one 9mm Pistol, three Grenades and other war-like stores were recovered. The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal,” an official press release stated.
