Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 15 (ANI): A delegation of the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) presented a cheque of Rs 2 crore to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as a contribution towards the CM’s Relief Fund on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister lauded this generous contribution, appreciating the Board’s commitment to social welfare.
CM Sukhu said that directives have been issued to all Boards and Corporations to release salaries and pensions on the 28th of this month, ahead of the upcoming festive season. This decision would benefit approximately 50,000 employees and pensioners of all Boards and Corporations across the state, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the state government had also decided to release an additional 4 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) to all government employees, effective from 1st January 2023. The employees of the HP State Pollution Control Board would benefit from this increase as well.
Furthermore, the pending arrears under the Sixth Pay Commission would be released to all Pollution Control Board employees.
CM Sukhu reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to the welfare of its employees, emphasizing various initiatives implemented over the past 20 months.
“The government had reinstated the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to provide social security and ensure a dignified life for retired employees,” he said.
“This decision, taken during the first Cabinet meeting of the present state government, reflects a humanitarian approach rather than political motives,” said the Chief Minister adding that the government remains committed to prioritizing the well-being of government employees and ensuring their adequate support.
