New Delhi [India], October 14 (ANI): Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu thanked farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni for his recent comments regarding the farmers’ protests and their impact on the Haryana Congress, stating that Charuni has revealed the true nature of the Congress party in Haryana.

Gurnam Singh Charuni, who contested the recent Haryana Assembly elections from the Sikh-dominated Pehowa seat, in a recent interview called Bhupinder Singh Hooda a “fool” and claimed that farm leaders had already set a pitch for the Congress party, but still they could not win the elections.

He said that Bhupinder Singh Hooda is a “fool” as he did not compromise in any manner and the Congress had left everything on him. He stated that the farmer leaders had created an “atmosphere” for the Congress party in Haryana.

In response, Minister of State for Food Ravneet Singh Bittu emphasized that the BKU leader should be provided security, as he is likely to face threats after making such significant allegations.

“I want to thank Gurnam Singh Charuni, although late, he has spoken the truth and exposed all farm leaders. He has exposed how the Congress used him against BJP and the Prime Minister. Charuni sahab should be provided with security because these so-called farmer leaders are goons and they can attack him,” Bittu said while speaking to the media.

Earlier, Businessman Robert Vadra said that the farmers and women wrestlers in Haryana, with whom he is in contact, were surprised by the BJP’s win in the state assembly election. He also supported the Congress’ complaints about electronic voting machines in some Haryana seats.

Vadra also accused the BJP of “using his name” to gain political advantage.

“The experiences that I have with women wrestlers, farmers, and people–they are all surprised by the results. I will say that to whomever people have elected, we should look towards the development of the state. They (BJP) use my name always, but the Khattar government has given me a clean chit twice over those allegations that they put against me. They (BJP) must look towards addressing the grievances of people as they have been elected for the third term,” Vadra told ANI.

“I agree with what Rahul Gandhi has said. People have said that a few EVM machines had 99% battery life–Congress was at a loss there. Even the exit polls showed that Congress will get a big majority, but I will say it again, whichever party the people elect, the leaders must fulfil their promises,” he added.

The Congress in Haryana could not capitalise on the 10 years of anti-incumbency of the BJP government. The BJP won 48 out of 90 seats in the Haryana assembly, while Congress managed to win 37 seats. Independents won 3 seats, and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) secured 2 seats. (ANI)
