Navsari (Gujarat) [India], August 15 (ANI): The Navsari Police had a big win when the Local Crime Branch, Special Operations Group (SOG) and local police seized 50 packets of narcotic drugs weighing 60 kgs from Aonjal village in Jalalpur on Wednesday.
Speaking to ANI, Superintendent of Police, Sunil Agarawal “Yesterday, August 14, Navsari Police had a big win during a drugs campaign. During patrolling, LCB, SOG and local Police seized narcotic drugs.”
Further, he said that the total weight of the drugs was 60 kgs and 150 grams, costing approximately Rs 30.07 crore.
“The total drugs weighed around 60 kg and 150 grammes, costing approximately Rs 30.07 crore. The drugs were found packed in five layers by the police,” the SP said.
Earlier, on August 14, Assam Police launched a crackdown on drug trafficking, conducting two anti-narcotics operations and seizing over 635 grams of heroin, officials said on Wednesday.
In the first operation, Karimganj Police intercepted a vehicle at Gilaiti Hills that was travelling from a neighbouring state.Upon inspection, officers discovered 305 grams of heroin concealed within the vehicle.
Two individuals were apprehended in connection with this incident and are currently under investigation, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a post on X.
Earlier, on August 7, the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Gujarat arrested two people involved in making MD drugs in a flat in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi and seized 792 kg of liquid MD drugs worth Rs 800 crore, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Mohammad Yunus and Mohammad Adil.
The police said that both the accused have been arrested in a drug case that was busted on July 18, in which 35 kg of MD were seized, including 4 kg in hard form and 31 kg in liquid form, and 2 accused were arrested. (ANI)
