Panaji (Goa) [India], September 18 (ANI): The Raj Bhavan in Goa, on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday launched the Vriksha Ayurveda initiative, which aims at the protection and strengthening of trees.
Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai said the Vriksha Ayurveda initiative is an ancient concept for the protection and strengthening of trees.
Speaking to ANI, the Governor said, “As far as the Raj Bhavan initiatives are concerned, two important things happened in Raj Bhavan. The first is the Vriksha Ayurveda, an ancient concept for the protection and strengthening of trees. Our forefathers proposed a very good system and in India, Raj Bhavan started the Vriksha Ayurveda treatment. The Chief Ministers, priests and divine people were present in the Vriksha Pooja and we are very happy to say that our Raj Bhavan is the first institution to implement this positively and in the coming days it will be followed in other parts of the country as well,” Pillai said.
Further, he said that it was an extreme delight to announce that the Raj Bhavan had conducted a special Pooja in the Raj Bhavan Ganpati Temple and a Shwet Kapila Goushala was inaugurated on the PM’s birthday two years ago.
“The Prime Minister’s birthday was not celebrated as such, but a special Pooja was conducted in the Raj Bhavan Ganpati temple and the Shwet Kapila Goushala, which was inaugurated here two years ago on the PM’s birthday. In addition to that, there is the Our Lady of Cape Church in the Raj Bhavan, one of the ancient churches, and we conducted a special prayer yesterday on the PM’s birthday. Other ministers were also present. They prayed for the welfare of the country and the PM,” he added.
On Tuesday, the Governor, First Lady of Goa Rita Shreedharan Pillai, and other dignitaries offered prayers at a church, Shree Ganesh temple, and Gaushala, seeking blessings for the Prime Minister’s good health and many more years of dedicated service towards the peace and prosperity of the nation, as well as the realisation of the grand vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat.’ (ANI)
