New Delhi [India], July 8 (ANI): The AI-Powered Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) Masterclass, held last week, showcased remarkable global participation, with notable engagement from South African countries. Interestingly,a few people from Pakistan and China also took part in India’s flagship skilling platform, SIDH.
This significant event on July 4, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in digital skills development, witnessed substantial turnout from various continents, reflecting growing international interest in AI and digital education.
Organised by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Bank, and UNESCO, the masterclass brought together global experts and enthusiasts.
As per NSDC “It was attended by key dignitaries including Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Sierra Leone; Ruben Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Armenia; Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International and Shreshtha Gupta, CTO, NSDC & NSDC International and others.
“With a total registration of 3,672 individuals from 128 countries, the event truly embodied its international scope,” NSDC said in a statement.
NSDC further said in a statement that South African countries made a strong showing, with South Africa leading at 55 registrants, followed by Nigeria with 66, Kenya with 61, and Ghana with 27 participants. Other African nations, such as Ethiopia (23), Tanzania (18), and Uganda (12) also had significant representation.
Notable participation also came from Asian countries. Pakistan had a substantial presence with 18 registrants, while China contributed 5 participants.
The diverse international participation included significant numbers from Bangladesh (138), Trinidad and Tobago (83), the Philippines (53), and the United States (20), among others.
“Participants actively engaged in various sessions, including panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. Their diverse perspectives and experiences enriched the event, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Panelists shared insights on the transformative impact of AI on education in their regions, highlighting successful AI applications and initiatives driving digital skill development globally,” NSDC added
Interactive workshops provided attendees with hands-on experience and practical knowledge on implementing AI in educational settings. Participants from all countries demonstrated keen interest and enthusiasm, actively participating and sharing their own experiences and challenges.
The masterclass also served as a platform for networking and building connections across borders. Attendees seized this opportunity to establish partnerships and explore collaborative projects with peers from different parts of the world.
