Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 18 (ANI): The heat in Rajasthan has once again increased and people of the state have been grappling with a continuous heatwave. Although the situation is likely to be persistent, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says that people can get some relief after four to five days.
The temperature in most parts of Rajasthan, especially in North Rajasthan, has reached 45 degrees Celsius. There is no respite from heat at night also as the temperature has increased by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius at night.
Speaking with ANI, Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Indian Meteorological Center (Jaipur), said that for the next four to five days, the maximum temperature in the western, northern and north-eastern parts of the state is likely to be higher than normal.
Shyam said, “Heatwave conditions have persisted in Northern Rajasthan for the last three to four days. The minimum night temperature is being recorded 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal. The biggest reason for this is the greater intensity of heat waves at night.”
He added further, “At the same time, due to western hot winds coming in most of the districts of the state, there is an increase in heat waves. There will not be much change in the circumstances of the heat wave in the state in the next 3 to 4 days.”
The IMD Jaipur Director also spoke about the rainfall and said that only some areas of the state will receive light rain along with thunder.
“There is a possibility of light rain at some places in eastern Rajasthan in the coming four to five days. There is a possibility of light rain in Kota, Udaipur, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions in the afternoon. The weather is likely to remain dry in most of the districts of Western Rajasthan. After June 19, there are indications of an increase in rain activities in some districts of northwestern Rajasthan. With this, there is a possibility of strong dusty winds,” Shyam said. (ANI)
