Pakur (Jharkhand) [India], August 18 (ANI): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana’ and said that there are enemies of society roaming in the country and states, who are unwilling to see good work being done.
CM Soren also said that if everything had gone well, he would have been able to implement this scheme a year ago.
The scheme was inaugurated today by transferring an honorarium of one thousand rupees through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the accounts of sisters and daughters.
Soren said, “I have been thinking for a long time about doing something special for the women in our state who face various challenges. If everything had gone well, I believe we would have been able to implement this scheme a year ago. But what can we do when there are enemies of society roaming in the country and the states, who do not want to see good work being done. They work to stop such efforts.”
“We did not give up. As soon as we started addressing your problems, these “guests” sent me to jail. When Guruji Shibu Soren managed big people, these are small issues; we will deal with them as well,” he added.
Notably, the assembly elections in Jharkhand are slated to happen later this year and there is speculation that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha senior leader Champai Soren is likely to join the BJP anytime soon.
Champai Soren on Sunday said that he was “insulted” during his tenure, adding that till the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly polls, “all options are open for him”.
He also listed out various instances when he was not allowed to call a meeting of the legislative party and was asked to resign suddenly which prompted him “to look for an alternative path”.
In a long post on X, Champai Soren said that he has always done politics of public concern from raising the voice of workers against industrial houses at the beginning of his public life to the Jharkhand movement. (ANI)
