Encounter breaks out between police, Maoists in Maharashtra’s Kanker – World News Network

Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) [India], July 17 (ANI): An encounter broke out between a Maharashtra Police C-60 team and Maoist insurgents in the forest area between Chhindbhatti and PV 82 in the border area of Maharashtra’s Kanker on Wednesday.
The clash happened between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm and in it, Sub-Inspector Satish Patil was shot in the left shoulder.
Following the firefight, urgent measures were taken to evacuate Sub-Inspector Patil to safety.
At 4:07 pm, a helicopter dispatched from Thana Band in Kanker district airlifted the injured officer to Gadchiroli for immediate medical attention.
Meanwhile, security forces have intensified search operations in the region as they continue to monitor the situation closely. (ANI)
