Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 29 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy visit to former CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari at his residence in the Defence Colony in Dehradun on Saturday.
Dhami discussed various contemporary issues related to the state with the senior BJP leader.
Meanwhile, Dhami also launched the ‘Jagran Samvadi’ programme in Dehradun today.
Taking to their official X handle, CMO Uttarakhand posted, “On this occasion, the Chief Minister expressed his views on the initiatives being taken to realise the dreams of the youth of the state, law and order, ease of transport, efforts being made to maintain the original form of Devbhoomi etc.”
Quoting Dhami, the CMO in its post added, “The Chief Minister said that the development journey of Uttarakhand is a collective journey of all of us. We all have to cooperate in this. He also expected everyone to come forward with positive thinking in making Uttarakhand a leading and ideal state.”
The Chief Minister also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, new records of development have been established in the entire country in the last 10 years. “Under the double-engine government, many such works have been done in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand which could not have been thought of earlier,” Dhami said.
Talking about the government’s efforts for youth employment, Dhami said, “The youth of our state is moving ahead with new knowledge and science. The youth want employment and self-employment. Our effort is to make 100 per cent appointments on vacant posts in government departments. In the last three years, 14,800 youth have been provided government jobs.”
The Chief Minister also said that tourism and pilgrimage are the strong base of the state’s economy.
He said, “Due to the development of roads, air traffic and other infrastructure facilities, twice as many pilgrims have come to the state as compared to last year for the Chardham Yatra. While a total of 19 lakh pilgrims came to Kedarnath last year, 10 lakh pilgrims have come so far this year.”
The Uttarakhand Chief Minister further asserted that a provision of strict law has been made to prevent any kind of religious conversion in the state.
“We have made a riot prevention law by taking strict action against those who cause any kind of damage to government property. Under this, the damage will be recovered from the person who causes damage to the resources,” Dhami said.
The Chief Minister also said, “It is our endeavour to make Uttarakhand a crime-free state. The spirit of friendly police in the state is for peace-loving people and not for criminals. Instructions have been given to the police to take strong action against criminals in the state.” (ANI)
