New Delhi [India] August 22 (ANI): Delhi police have arrested two persons in connection with an attempted kidnapping of a student in the Alipur area, officials said on Thursday.
According to police, the accused, identified as Gurmeet Singh and Nikhil Kumar, allegedly forced a student named Roushan into a black car near Bakoli crossing on August 14.
Roushan managed to escape by jumping out of the car, after which the suspects fled toward Narela.
Roushan, who had been waiting at the bus stand near Bakoli crossing to return to his room in Bawana, reported the incident. He had come to Alipur to meet his father, officials said.
The victim told the police that two men had forced him into the car, but he escaped and fell on the road while the car drove off, they said.
A case of abduction under Section 140(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered based on Roushan’s statement.
During the investigation, police discovered a video showing the car with registration number DL9CAM 7577.
The car, registered in the name of Labh Singh, the father of one of the accused, has been seized by the police.
And the accused duo has been taken into custody, they added.
The police were further looking into the case. (ANI)
