Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 21 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav slammed the Congress party and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on Election Commission of India (EC) in Boston, US, saying it’s character of the Congress and Congressmen should control their leader.

“It has been the record of Rahul Gandhi that he spoils the honour of the nation abroad. I prayed Baba Mahakal to show him wisdom that he might not do it this time, but it depends on his will. It becomes a characteristic of a person that we should not let the respect for our country and countrymen be thrown off in the world. We should not act to ruin or damage their respect and honour,” CM Yadav said.
The Chief Minister further highlighted that the Congress leader is a member of Parliament; he should address his concerns in Parliament and refrain from engaging in politics outside the country.
“If you want to do politics, then you have a platform within the country, there is your party, and you are a member of the Parliament. You should keep your point there (Parliament), whatever you want to say. But there is no leader in the world who creates such an atmosphere outside their country and against their nation. It is the character of the Congress, and the people of Congress should control their leader,” the CM added.
While addressing the Indian Diaspora in Boston, United States, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission (EC) in India was “compromised,” stating that there was something fundamentally wrong with the system.
Citing the example of the Maharashtra elections, the Senior Congress leader stated that there was an addition of 65 lakh voters to the voter list in two hours, which was impossible.
“More people voted in Maharashtra than the total number of people in Maharashtra, and this is a fact… the Election Commission gave us a figure in the evening around 5:30 p.m., and in two hours around 7:30 p.m., 65 lakh voters had voted, which is physically impossible…” he claimed, addressing the meeting.
Meanwhile, speaking about OBC (Other Backwards Classes) reservation, CM Yadav stated that his government is committed to OBC reservation and will continue to provide 27 per cent OBC reservation.
“Our government is clear about the OBC reservation and we are standing on the stand of 27 per cent OBC reservation… We have examined the OBC Commission’s report that came during our previous government of Shivraj Singh Chouhan tenure and along with this, we will invite all the people who have filed a writ petition in the matter and will hold discussion with them…Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are working for everyone’s interest, and I hope good results come soon,” CM Yadav added.
