Gomati (Tripura) [India], August 23 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inspected the flood-hit areas in Amarpur and Karbook on Friday.
Saha thanked the PM for the assistance that he has been providing.
“The PM has provided us with Rs 40 crore to help the affected victims. All the cattle and livestock are also being taken care of and are being provided with proper fodder. I have also instructed proper arrangements of sanitation, medication and relief camps should be taken care of. Levels of all rivers except the Gumati river are now decreasing.”
Taking to social media X, Saha posted that they have ample food packets and four helicopters in operation, further adding that the teams are working diligently to provide aid to the affected communities.

The post said “Inspected flood-hit areas in Amarpur and Karbook. Road infrastructure severely impacted, but we’re adapting our response: Helicopters deployed for airlift and road repair efforts are underway. We have ample food packets and 4 helicopters in operation. Our teams are working diligently to provide aid to affected communities.”
Further, Saha also visited the flood-affected areas of Udaipur in Gomati that have been severely damaged due to the heavy rains.
Large areas have been flooded, leaving several citizens homeless and residing in relief camps.
Saha also inspected the relief camps at the Khilpara Higher Secondary School and the Khilpara Market Shed and reviewed the management of the camps.
Earlier today, the CM visited the Bokafa HS school shelter house, where 305 flood-affected individuals have sought refuge following floods in the region and directed officials to provide essential support and amenities to ensure the comfort and well-being of citizens.
Following his visit Saha said, “Visited the Bokafa HS school shelter house, where 305 flood-affected individuals have sought refuge after losing everything. I’ve directed officials to provide essential support & amenities to ensure their comfort & well-being. We’re committed to standing by them through this challenging time.”
The Gomati River is still flowing at 22.30 metres, which is above the extreme danger level of 22 metres. The state administration has shifted all the families living on the banks of the Gomati River to Amarpur, Udaipur, Sonamura and surrounding villages.(ANI)
