Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], April 15 (ANI): Senior Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has launched a scathing attack on the AAP-led govt in Punjab and called Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann a ‘jumlabaaz’ and ‘dramabaaz’.
Speaking to the media, Randhawa questioned the chief minister’s handling of law and order. “The Chief Minister should first ask his intelligence how many bombs have come into the state and whether it is right or wrong.”, he said.
He further said that the intelligence agencies routinely issue alerts to political leaders and chief ministers regarding threats and individuals who are in danger and potential hit lists. He said,”Intelligence agencies, from time to time, alert every Chief Minister and every political person about those who are on the hit list and who are in danger…”
“The Chief Minister is a ‘jumlabaaz’, he wants to divert people’s attention. The Chief Minister has not spoken publicly or to the press about the 18 hand grenade attacks to date… It is Punjab’s misfortune that we have got such a ‘dramabaaz’ Chief Minister …”, he added.
Earlier, Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has also attacked the AAP govt after an FIR was registered against Punjab Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa for the grenade attack.
Warring said, “The way he (Bhagwant Mann) showed enthusiasm, and immediately the officers reached, and then the FIR was registered in the evening. You can guess from this that this is a case registered out of pure revenge.”
Warring also said that the information for which a case was registered against Bajwa had already been published in many Punjabi newspapers. He asked why no action was taken earlier on this sensitive information.
Leader of Oppasition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa has come under fire for his remarks, where he said that 50 bombs have reached Punjab and 18 of them have already exploded, while the 32 bombs are yet to go off.
However, Bajwa argued that his statement about several bombs in Punjab was revealed to him by a source who worried for his and his family’s safety.
“I stated to a TV channel that my sources have warned me that several bombs have come to Punjab. 18 bombs have exploded, and 30-32 bombs are to be used. My source told me that I am in an important position, so I should stay aware since my family has already been a victim of terrorism,” he added. (ANI)
