New Delhi [India], October 2 (ANI): JD(U) MP and Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan, alias Lalan Singh Wednesday, participated in the Swachhata Abhiyan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and said that cleanliness is an important part in everybody’s life.
“Through this campaign, the message is clear that cleanliness is a very important part of every individual’s life. Cleanliness can help in getting rid of many problems,” the Union Minister said.
He said ‘Swachata’ should not just be treated as a slogan; rather, it should be part of everyone’s life. “If we will clean our surroundings, it will help get rid of diseases,” he added.

When asked about Bihar floods, Union Minister Lalan Singh stated that Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has consistently stood up with the flood victims.
“You should know that in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has consistently stated that the first right to the state treasury belongs to victims of disaster.”
He further said that community kitchens in the state are providing lothing for women, men, and children, along with individual plates, bowls, and glasses for their meals.
“Community kitchens were being operated under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) directed by the Chief Minister. It is established to ensure that everyone coming to the community kitchen or camp received clothing for women, men, and children, along with individual plates, bowls, and glasses for their meals,” Lalan Singh added.
Several parts of Bihar are struggling with severe flooding due to heavy water discharge from the Kosi Barrage in Birpur, following relentless rainfall in the catchment areas of Nepal. Rivers are at or above danger levels in many bordering districts.
A massive volume of water has been released from the Kosi and Gandak barrages, affecting northern Bihar and Nepal. Floods in Sitamarhi followed a breach in the Mandar dam in the Belsand block on September 29. (ANI)
