Chhattisgarh CM Sai along with his family came here to offer prayers to Mahakaleshwar Temple in the district. After the worship, he reached Circuit House where CM Yadav met him and welcomed him into the city.
“Today, I came here to offer prayers at Mahakal temple in Ujjain and luckily CM Mohan Yadav was also in the city, therefore we had a courtesy meeting with him here,” Sai told reporters.
Meanwhile, CM Yadav told reporters, “I am happy that the glory of our Baba Mahakal may increase and different guests come and attend the ‘Mahakal Sawari’. Today in that sequence, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has come here to offer prayers to Baba Mahakal. I welcome him to the city. Chhattisgarh has a close relationship with Madhya Pradesh, it is an old part of Madhya Pradesh. May Baba Mahakal’s blessings remain on everyone and his glory keep increasing.”
Notably, there is a tradition of taking out Baba Mahakal’s sawari (ride) on every Monday in the month of Sawan month. The devotees also wait for hours on the roadside to witness the ride and consider themselves blessed by getting a glimpse of Baba Mahakal.

I offered prayers to Baba Mahakal and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of Chhattisgarh. May the lives of people of Chhattisgarh be filled with joy, and have brotherhood among themselves.”
“Also, it is his divine blessings that I got the opportunity to serve as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. So, I also prayed to him to provide strength to fulfil the responsibilities. Besides, it is Raksha Bandhan festival today as well, so I extend my greetings to people of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on the occasion,” he added. (ANI)
