New Delhi [India], June 10 (ANI): Following the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj came down heavily upon the central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party stating that its policies related to Jammu and Kashmir, China, and Pakistan have been a “complete failure”.
“It is painful and shameful to see how the terrorists are becoming courageous day by day. I think, their (central government) policies whether it concerns Jammu and Kashmir, or Pakistan and China, have been a complete failure”, Bharadwaj told ANI.
The terror attack took place in J-K’s Reasi district on Sunday after a vehicle fell into a deep gorge after terrorists opened fire killing at least nine people and leaving over 30 injured.
The Jammu and Kashmir police said on Monday that at least two terrorists were involved in the attack.”As per eyewitnesses, two (terrorists) were there as of now. A combing operation is underway in the area. Five teams have been formed to search in the area,” Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma told ANI.
The SSP further said that five teams have been formed to conduct the search operation in the dense forest area in and around the incident spot.
The Indian Army and State Disaster Response Force are also present at the site. Drones are also being used to search the forest area.
According to officials, the bus, en route from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra, was targeted by terrorists at around 6.10 pm when it reached the Pouni area of Reasi district, bordering Rajouri district.
Meanwhile, as the Supreme Court on Monday extended till August 10 the deadline to vacate Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) headquarters office in the Rouse Avenue area, the AAP minister thanked the apex court.
“When the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gained the status of a national party after the Punjab assembly polls, we were to be given a second office here in Delhi. The Supreme Court (SC) also deemed that it is the responsibility of the central government to allot land for our office. We have been demanding land from the centre for a long time now”, Saurabh Bharadwaj said.
“We would like to thank the SC that it understood our concern”, he added.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had given AAP the deadline of June 15. The AAP’s headquarters in Delhi was originally allotted to the Delhi High Court.
The AAP had told the top court the said plot had been allotted to it in 2015 and it was earmarked for the judiciary only subsequently in 2020. The AAP also said that since it has a national party status now, it was entitled to a plot in Central Delhi at par with other national parties.
It directed AAP to approach the Centre’s Land And Development Office (L&DO) for the allocation of suitable land for its offices. (ANI)
