Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], June 2 (ANI): Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Sunday visited INS Chilka, the premier training establishment for Agniveers of the Indian Navy located in Odisha.
During the visit, General Chauhan received an overview of the training activities and progress of the Agniveer batches at INS Chilka, and was briefed on the critical role played by the facility in shaping future sea warriors.
“General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) visited INS Chilka, the premier ab-initio training establishment of Indian Navy for Agniveers on 01 Jun 24.The CDS was briefed on the pivotal role played by INS Chilka in shaping future sea warriors of the Indian Navy. An overview of training activities along with analysis of Agniveer batches trained till date at Chilka was provided,” as per a release from INS Chilka.
Interacting with the Agniveers, General Chauhan emphasised the importance of the Agnipath Scheme in fostering a youthful and dynamic profile within the services and contributing to nation-building by producing skilled, disciplined, and motivated youth.
“The CDS interacted with the Agniveers. During his address, he brought out that the implementation of ‘Agnipath Scheme’ has been one of the major reforms towards maintaining a youthful profile in the services and nation-building by providing skilled, disciplined and motivated youth. He exhorted the Agniveers to focus on training to become technologically proficient sea warriors. During the interaction, he took on various queries of the Agniveers,” the release stated.
“To gain insight into Agniveer training in the Navy, CDS took a short tour of the training infrastructure. He complimented the training faculty for imparting high standards of training and shaping the next generation of sea warriors,” the release added. (ANI)
