The clash occurred between two groups participating in separate bike and car rallies, leading to a violent confrontation that included stone pelting. Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media.
The chaotic scene lasted for nearly half an hour, causing a traffic jam on Mohan Road. Many commuters were left stranded and frustrated as the situation escalated near Neelam Palace on Kakori Mor, where stones were hurled.
In an official press release, the Lucknow Police stated that the clash stemmed from a minor accident during a “Tiranga Yatra” (Tricolor Rally). Two motorcycles collided during the rally near Hanskheda Tiraha, leading to an altercation between the riders over the repair costs. The situation further escalated when another procession passed by, contributing to the crowd seen in the viral videos.
The police have identified the individuals involved in the altercation and are conducting an investigation. Legal action will be taken following the inquiry. (ANI)
