New Delhi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], October 17 (ANI): BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Thursday, attacked the opposition alliance on Thursday, claiming that the alliance’s cohesiveness and vision is uncleared.
Speaking to ANI, Shehzad Poonawalla hit out at Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi’s tweet.
“Yesterday Akhilesh Yadav tweeted from J&K about ‘Ekta’ and then immediately his tallest leader in Maharashtra, Abu Azmi tweeted that they must fight maximum seats in Maharashtra and if the MVA declares candidate list without them they will have to see what they (SP) do. This shows that there is no ‘ekta’, mission and vision in this alliance. It is an alliance of commission, ambition and confusion… In Kerala, Congress declared unilaterally Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as a candidate for Wayanad… They keep fighting against each other because the entire mindset is who will get more seats and power,” he said.
“The alliance is not Maha Vikas Aghadi, it is Maha Vichitra, Maha Vidambana Aghadi. Even elements like Abu Azmi are now dictating to Uddhav Sena and Congress… Uddhav Sena is demanding ‘Hamara CM face Hona Chahiye which Sharad Pawar and Congress are rejecting. It is an alliance of total confusion and ambition, not for mission and vision for Maharashtra.” he added.
On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi on X posted –
“In Maharashtra, if any party of Mahavikas Aghadi, be it Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (SP), or Shiv Sena (Uttar Pradesh), releases the list of assembly candidates without talking to Samajwadi Party or taking them into confidence, it means that they do not consider Samajwadi Party as a part of Mahavikas Aghadi. It would be wrong for any party to announce candidates without talking to Samajwadi Party. Whereas the objective of Mahavikas Aghadi is to keep all secular parties together and fight against the communal government. In these circumstances, I would like to take permission from our National President Hon. Shri Akhilesh Yadav Ji that whatever be the result of the assembly elections in Maharashtra – Samajwadi Party would like to contest as many seats as possible in the assemblies where it is strong.”
Earlier, Election Commission of India had announced the schedule for the assembly elections for Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra legislative assembly will be held in a single phase on November 20, with votes to be counted on November 23.
The key contenders in the elections are the ruling Mahayuti Alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, comprising the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress. (ANI)
