Dausa (Rajasthan) [India], November 4 (ANI): Congress leader Sachin Pilot said on Monday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Rajasthan has failed in every area and the public will evaluate the government’s work in one year.
Pilot, who campaigned for Congress candidate from Dausa Assembly seat in Rajasthan by-polls, asserted that the party will win.
“This (BJP) government has failed in every area, be it law and order or working for the welfare of farmers…Only announcements have been made. The public will evaluate the government’s work in one year and we are fighting well on all seven seats. I am confident that we will win,” he said.
“No matter how much effort the BJP puts in, Dausa has always supported the Congress party,” the Congress leader added.
The by-polls in Rajasthan on seven seats including Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinwsar, Chorasi, Salumbar and Ramgarh will be held on November 13 with results to be declared on November 20.
The by-polls on these seven seats were necessitated after two MLAs died and five others were elected to the Lok Sabha.
Notably, of these seven seats, five were held by the Congress and its allies (Bharat Adivasi Party-one), while the BJP and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) hold one each.
Congress candidate Deendayal Bairwa from Dausa seat will be in electoral fray against BJP’s Jagmohan Meena.
The BJP has 114 MLAs in 200-member Rajasthan Assembly, Congress has 65, Bharat Adivasi Party three, Bahujan Samaj Party two, one Rashtriya Lok Dal and eight independents.
On October 30, Rajasthan Chief Election Officer Naveen Mahajan said that 69 candidates including 10 women and 59 men are in the political field in Rajasthan.
Mahajan said that a total of 94 candidates had submitted their nomination papers till the last date of nomination on October 25.
He said 12 candidates each are contesting in Dausa and Khinvsar assembly constituencies. Six candidates are in the fray in Salumbar. (ANI)
