Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], October 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jharkhand Election Management Committee held a meeting on Monday where they discussed the strategic plan, including organisation of rallies, strengthening of booths, for the upcoming Assembly Elections.
The meeting was held in the state office of the party in Ranchi under the chairmanship of state president Babulal Marandi. Jharkhand Assembly Election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present in the meeting.
After the meeting, BJP’s Election Management Committee Convenor Sunil Singh, in a press conference said that BJP discussed about their strategic plan in the meeting.
“In today’s meeting, we discussed about the strategy for the election. Which leader’s rally should be held where, where to strengthen our booth and other strategic advances so we don’t face any issues on the organisational level.” Sunil Singh said.
On the Jharkhand government seeking permission to the Election Commission of India to implement ‘JMM Samman Yojana’ which aim to provide financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to women beneficiaries, BJP leader Sunil Singh said,”Women’s empowerment is BJP’s commitment. We have worked for that in other states. If someone (Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren) looks at our schemes and gives Rs 2500 or Rs 2600 it doesn’t matter. The question is what have you done in the past 5 years that now you are working on this scheme? If any government care for women’s empowerment then they work for it after coming to power, not in the end.”
Last week, BJP President JP Nadda held a meeting with the Jharkhand BJP unit to discuss the candidate selection for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and key Jharkhand leaders, including Union Ministers Sanjay Seth, Annapurna Devi, state president Babulal Marandi, former Union Minister Arjun Munda, and others were also present.
The state unit has prepared a list of three potential candidates for each constituency.
During the meeting at Nadda’s residence in Delhi, one candidate from each list is expected to be finalized, sources said. However, the final decision on the candidates will be confirmed only after the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, they added.
Jharkhand is expected to hold elections for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, as the current government’s tenure is set to end in January 2025. The Election Commission is yet to announce the election schedule. (ANI)
