Patna (Bihar) [India], July 5 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Mrtiyunjay Tiwari on Saturday slammed the Bihar government over the murder of businessman Gopal Khemka in Patna, alleging that the state has “descended into lawlessness” under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
Khemka was shot dead on Friday in the south area of Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.
The RJD leader stated that Nitish Kumar is no longer fit to remain the Chief Minister of Bihar.
“Nitish Kumar is no longer fit to remain on the Chief Minister’s chair even for a moment. Bihar has descended into a state of lawlessness… Only the departure of this government will bring good to Bihar”, Mrityunjay Tiwari told ANI.
Tiwari stated that a businessman was shot dead close to the Bihar Police headquarters and criticised the state administration for failing to maintain law and order.
“In Bihar’s capital Patna, right under the nose of the police headquarters, a businessman is shot dead in this manner. Tejashwi Yadav has been continuously issuing crime bulletins, holding a mirror to the government, raising questions”, the RJD leader added.
The RJD leader highlighted the “audacity” of the criminals and questioned Nitish Kumar’s “demonic” rule in the state,
“Look at the audacity of criminals, shooting directly in such a crowded area near Gandhi Maidan, what have you done to this state, Nitish Kumar ji?… If this is not called a demonic rule, a mega-jungle rule, a criminal rule, then what else will it be called?” he said.
Following the incident, Bihar Police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the murder case of businessman Gopal Khemka.
SIT has been formed on businessman Gopal Khemka’s murder case by Bihar police, SP City Central will lead this SIT, as per Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay kumar
Meanwhile, the forensic team arrived at the crime scene on Saturday morning following Gopal Khemka’s murder in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan.
Police have launched an investigation after a businessman was allegedly shot dead in the south area of the Gandhi Maidan in Bihar, a police officer said earlier.
The incident took place on July 4
Superintendent of Police (SP), Patna, Diksha told ANI on Saturday, “On the night of July 4, at around 11 pm, we received information that businessman Gopal Khemka has been shot dead in the south area of the Gandhi Maidan…”
“The crime scene has been secured, and further investigation is underway… One bullet and one shell have been recovered…” the police official added. (ANI)
