Karnal (Haryana) [India], October 5 (ANI): Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bharat Bhushan Juyal has accused the Congress and Bhupinder Hooda of sidelining the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC), claiming that the party only tolerates interference from the Hooda family.
“There is no interference by anyone other than the Hooda family in Congress, and they don’t tolerate anyone else. If anyone else tries to progress in politics… I believe that Kumari Selja has a good impact in politics; she is a good politician. She has a reputation for trying to bring people together. However, since Bhupinder Hooda has a special affinity for a particular community, he has sidelined the SC and OBC communities and has prevented them from entering the mainstream. Their rivalry has now become personal. It is Congress vs Hooda,” Juyal said.
He further asserted that no one in Congress holds any significance before Hooda.
“Kumari Selja is no less a leader than B.S. Hooda. Her community has seen that the central leadership also gave her a good position and respect. But she could not build her own image, and the reason is B.S. Hooda. Her community wanted her to be at the forefront, like Chief Minister, but Hooda knew that if that happened, he would be pushed into the background and out of Congress politics. The community will consider this when they vote,” he added.
The key contesting parties in the upcoming Haryana elections include the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as well as the pre-poll alliance between the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and Azad Samaj Party (ASP).
Haryana will go to the polls on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with counting set to take place on October 8. (ANI)
